Crimson Kiss Sketches

I might be working on the comic Crimson Rose by William Mitchell in the near future, based in the same universe as his RPG Imperium Chronicles.  He'll be setting up a Kickstarter to pay for the comic, and when he does, I'll be sure to post a link.  I did some basic sketches to get a feel for the characters before starting.
Ramus, the main character. He has powers that allow him to change his arms into claws.
Fugg, the mechanic.
The sketch on the top right is a cat-alien prostitute straddling a wrench. I'll add it as a tattoo to his arm.
My first attempt at GEN, a general-purpose robot. She's too sexy though.
Some more GEN designs. The final will a combination of the elements in these.
A Parvulian. They are tiny aliens that get around in large mechanized suits.
The Blood Prince. He is of a race like the Drow.

The Girls from Alcyone- Suko Sweeping Hair WiP

As soon as I saw this pose I knew I had to do a drawing of Suko with it. I'm not sure if I should leave it rough like this or refine it.

The Girls from Alcyone- Back-to-back

Sigrid and Suko from The Girls from Alcyone by Cary Caffrey.  Taken from their families at a very young age, they were sold to the Kimura Corporation to pay off their parents' immense debts.  They were then genetically enhanced and trained in weapons to become perfect mercenaries. They quickly become friends and grow to become more. When someone attacks the school, Sigrid and Suko have to fight for their freedom and the lives of themselves and their schoolmates.

Sigrid is the story's main character, and what she lacks in size (she's 5'1.5" compared to the other girls' 6') she makes up for in determination and hard work. Her signature weapons are pearl-handled pistols she took from her first kill.

Suko is the best friend of Sigrid.  She loves anything with a blade, though she's no slouch with a gun either. Sigrid bought Suko a katana from a small pawnshop as a gift.

Demon Game Cast 2.1 (Wallpaper)

Antoni, Erin, Brooke, Celeste, Bill, Alice, Dominic

Alright, this is from the Demon rpg that my friends I used to play. It's been defunct for over a year, but my friend Maggie and just like the characters so darn much we still draw them.

I'd done a group pic to show the different heights but it came out less than pretty. Then Maggie did her own version, which I liked so much more.  I felt it had more nuance, expression, and body language.  I decided to copy her composition and poses and redraw them my way.

Originally I had no intention of doing them all in rainbow colors, but once I noticed the color scheme was headed that way, and that there were indeed seven characters, I decided to go with it.  This was much brighter, but since it's a dark game, I played with the lighting.

Brooke in Jingle Top

Cassie/Brooke from the now defunct Demon Game. However, I still just like drawing the character for an excuse to do pretty fashions. She was my pseudo-bohemian, filthy rich, art-student character.

Barbarians

I want to work for companies like Paizo, Wizards of the Coast, and Fantasy Flight Games, so I realized I needed more traditional fantasy art. This is for the front of the role-playing book where it shows character classes.  I intend to do some more. Luckily, with renaissance faires going on this summer, hopefully I'll find more models.

Underworld Deities- Satan in Hell

Satan, the Adversary of Judeo-Christianity.  Hell in works like Dante's Inferno have icy parts while most people think of fire and brimstone.  I decided to incorporate both along with a boiling lake of flaming blood.

I decided to depict the devil as stereotypically as possible.

Underworld Deities- Persephone & Hades in Hades

In Greek mythology, Hades ("the unseen") is one of the big three, his brother Zeus is king of the gods and rules the skies, Poseidon the seas, and Hades the underworld.  While Zeus has a lightning bolt, and Poseidon a trident, Hades has a helm of invisibility that he lent to Perseus once when he went off to fight Medusa.  In Roman mythology he is called Pluto, which means "the rich one" in reference to gems being taken from the earth.

He fell in love with the goddess of spring Persephone, daughter of Demeter, goddess of the harvest.  He abducted her when she was out picking flowers and took her to the underworld.  Demeter refused to let anything grow and when mankind grew scared of starvation, Zeus sent Hermes to return Persephone to her mother.  However, Persephone had eaten six pomegranate seeds, which is why half the year she visits the underworld and winter occurs.

Somewhere during the time she was down there, she did indeed fall in love with Hades and they have one of the happier marriages from Greek mythology.

The realm of Hades had the River Styx running through it.  It was guarded by Cerberus, a three-headed dog.  It was a gloomy place where all souls were kept.  The Elysium Plains were saved for heroes and Tartarus, a place lower than Hades, was a pit for wicked souls and special punishments.

Underworld Deities- Ereshkigal in Irkalla

Ereshkigal rules over the Sumerian underworld Irkalla with her husband Nergal.  She is the sister of Inanna/Ishtar and once killed her during a visit with a death glance.  To enter Irkalla, a soul must go through seven gates, removing an article of clothing at each one.  The Mesopotamian underworld is a dark shadow of the world above above and visitors are offered dirt to eat, which is the food of the dead, so anyone living who eats it usually suffers an ill fate.

Underworld Deities- Osiris & Anubis in Tuat

Osiris, once just god of vegetation and fertility, got the role of god of the underworld after his wicked brother Set killed him, cut him into pieces, and spread the parts around Egypt.  His wife Isis found all the bits but one... the fertility part... and despite resurrecting him, he was no longer suitable to be god of giving life.  He is in charge of judging the souls of the dead.

His son by his brother's wife (the same brother who killed him) Nephthys. Seth cursed the child out of jealousy and anger.  The child came out with a jackal's head.  During the time that Isis was retrieving Osiris' body parts, Anubis accompanied her.  In the underworld, Anubis is in charge of embalming and helps in the judging.

Underworld Deities- Hel in Helheim

Hel Half-rotten, Norse goddess of the underworld and Loki Lie-smith's daughter.  She's described both as half black or half rotten, so I did both.  I added black tattoos and her lower half is dead.  Her realm is for those who die of sickness, old-age, or any way not in the middle of battle.  Those who die in the midst of battle get taken to Valhalla by Valkyries.  Helheim, sometimes combined in appearance with Niflheim, is misty and covered in snow and ice.

Winter Aanya & Jenny

Michael and I were watching a Christmas episode and he commented how he loves winter episodes because it forces the characters to wear a new outfit.

I decided to do his OC in winter clothes, though being the undead she doesn't really require staying warm. She can look/dress how she wants, (though I doubt if she were in disguise she'd keep her face so gaunt and pale.

After I finished Aanya, I decided to do his other female character from the same story.

Because Jenny is a werewolf, Mike and I decided to give her wolf-fur trim.

Futakuchi-onna Lolita

A futakuchi-onna, a two-mouthed woman, is a yokai (roughly translated as a "ghost" or "monster" in Japan) that is a thin woman who doesn't eat enough (often due to a miser husband) who grows a second mouth who eats twice as much as she would normally.

While I was working on my futakuchi-onna for Printmaking, I decided I wanted to make a character of one. She doesn't have a name yet, but I'd like to make some sort of little comic of her maybe, or just do more pics of her.

I might make some other cute yokai girls.

edit: oh darn, I just noticed her skirt is a little too short for lolita... grr.

Harley & Ivy

I think I want to do something more creative with Poison Ivy, since the nude-with-vines-on-her doesn't really offer much of a challenge design-wise.

As for Harley Quinn, since she was a gymnast, I gave her a modified cheerleader outfit. I was considering putting a Joker plushie dangling from her hand or else have her holding her cork-gun.

Reference by =SenshiStock [link] She has really great group shots.
