This is from deviantART. It's a meme going around to show off how everyone's improved in the last 7 years. I've never gotten around to doing other memes, but I really wanted to do this one.

I left out my traditional oil paintings from school. My skill for those has improved, but there hasn't really been a change in style. I wanted to focus on my drawings and Photoshop.

100,000 Paper Airplanes and Melodies Over Monroe
Today Rob Bliss's ArtPrize event. He and a bunch of other people threw 100,000 multicolored paper airplanes off four downtown buildings. It was really cool when the wind picked up and they soared off into the distance. I have four other videos up, but this was the best I think.

Stills & Trailer for Princess & the Frog
I finally found some still frames and the trailer for Disney's The Princess and the Frog.
Trailer from Apple.
Disneylicious has updates with images and more.
I found everything on David Kawena's deviantart journal. The still frames are from the trailer.

Simple Pleasures
I don't have Corel Painter, so when my StumbleUpon button took me to Crayola's Digi-Color page, I ran and grabbed my tablet and started playing with digital crayons (they even have glitter!,) markers, Twistables, colored pencils, and watercolor paint and some others. I felt like a kid. It was fun. I didn't make anything spectacular, and there is no undo button (though I suppose using the erasable markers might fix at least that area) but it was still fun and I mean, even Photoshop replicates traditional mediums better, but that Crayola has that many options and for free is just cool and fun.

Inspiration
I just managed to track down the artist on a long-down comic I used to read, and looking through her stuff, I think I'm inspired to draw. To stop thinking about the weird looks I get when I saw some of my ideas and just start sketching them. Too bad I'm 3 weeks behind in school due to sickness.
Oh, and the artist is Jen Wang aka Jen W. Tochi.

Cool...yet, *sigh*
I just came across the Myspace for Gris Grimly. If my memory is correct, I discovered his art site well over five or six years when I was still into cartoon dollz [sic], which were either drag-and-drop creations or were drawn using a base, in a paint-program of various fanciness.
I was given a doll of myself by Gris. Then my site went down and I lost the picture. This wasn't just a little doll, this was an almost proper digital illustration, given the time period and my not-yet knowing what a digital illustration even was.
I've looked through his gallery and it doesn't seem he has anything that old, since he has most certainly gone onto bigger and better things, though he seemed established years ago too.
I wonder if he would even remember such a thing and have it backed up on disk somewhere...

Who is Alex Pardee?
So, I opened Juxtapoz today and the first thing I saw was my last name. Only with "Alex" in front. I think my last name is rare enough that this was startling, cool, and significant. *sighs* Well, at least when I get into the industry my name will sorta already be out there.
I checked out some of his work. My favorite currently is the tree hoody for Hurley.
Here's his website.
